United States International University Africa, also known as USIU Africa, is a private university in Kenya, the largest economy in the East African Community.
The university is accredited by the Commission for Higher Education (CUE) in Kenya and by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the United States.
The university was established in 1969 as the Nairobi Campus of United States International University (USIU), a San Diego -based institution.
In 1999, the United States International University, Nairobi Campus, established itself as a separate university under its new name: USIU Africa.
In 2001, USIU merged with the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) to form Alliant International University
Doctoral courses offered at USIU
1. Doctor of Business Administration
The 3-year program is divided into 3 semesters of 13 weeks each; 1 year course work and a minimum of 2 years of research work.
It emphasizes on applying emerging theories and practice in addressing interdisciplinary business issues, applying effective leadership in a dynamic business environment and applying financial information to enhance business decisions.
It also develops and implements strategic solutions in a dynamic environment and designing conducting and disseminating research that contributes to business knowledge and solutions.
2. Doctor of Psychology, PsyD, Clinical Psychology
The program is a practitioner-scholar model designed to meet professional standards of international practice in Clinical Psychology.
The degree includes course work, practicum and internship supervised training, and the doctoral dissertation.
The program focuses on academics, experiential training, and research in psychology; with emphasis on assessment and treatment with individuals, couples and families; application of psychometric tests, psychological evaluations, and training in psychotherapy modalities.
3. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in International Relations Program
This is a scholarly research–oriented degree that is anchored on a student-centered curriculum.
The Program is both course work-intensive and research-oriented, to be awarded on both full-time and part-time basis.
The core strength of the PhD program is in three areas: peace and conflict studies, development studies, and foreign policy and diplomacy.
4. Doctor of Philosophy in Information Systems and Technology
This program produces career innovators, researchers and academics who can contribute to the good of the community and society using current and future Information Systems and Technology concepts.
In line with the university mission, the program offers an opportunity for Information Systems and Technology professionals to refine and extend their knowledge and skill at an advanced level by treating ICT as an ecosystem and encompasses multiple elements: ICT human resources, ICT industries and services, ICT applications (interdisciplinary informatics) in government, business and finance, civil society, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), ICT in various sectors (education, health, agriculture, etc.), digital policies and regulations, and digital leadership in institutions.

The Doctoral application entrance requirements are as follows;
- Graduate degree in a business discipline from an accredited tertiary institution/University.
