China Square, a new one stop shop located in Unicity Mall Thika Road has become a favorite spot offering the ultimate shopping experience for Nairobians.
Kenyans have noticed that the shop has a wide range of products from stationery, furniture, home decoration items, cleaning supplies, hardware store, electrical appliances and party supplies among others.
The mall has become popular thanks to social media with many commending the quality and pricing the items.
It has become the new shopping point with many equating it to having Dubois, Kamukunji and Eastleigh under one roof.
Since its discovery, the mall, in the past few days has been filled up with long queues of people waiting in line to pay for items.
The one-stop shopping hub also sparked mixed reactions, with prospective customers claiming the products were affordable.
“On TikTok Kenya when you just go to ‘For You Page’, you won’t miss videos on China Square,” Egline Samoei wrote on Twitter.
Others noted that the hub was set to rival other renowned shopping centers, including Gikomba and Business Bay Square (BBS) mall, set to be opened in Eastleigh due to its location and security features.
“Just as I was readying for the Business Bay Square (BBS), Eastleigh Mall, boom, China Square is popping out. Will Gikomba survive this? How will the CBD shops or other small shops sustain it?” another user questioned.
“Over the weekend, China Square was fully packed. This led to long service lines and reduced parking,” another social media user indicated.
However, others noted that China Square was key to reviving UniCity mall, owned by Kenyatta University, which was struggling to recover from the effects of economic downtime.

China Square reviews (Google)
Kishan Yadav: Overall, I would highly recommend China Square Kenya to anyone looking for the newest and most exciting shopping experience in Kenya. With its incredible selection of products, unbeatable prices, and helpful staff, it’s clear that this store is quickly becoming a favorite among Kenyan shoppers. Don’t miss out on the chance to shop at the newest and most affordable store in town!
Miale Paints: Avoid buying electronic items here. Item bought broke down the same day. They give you 1 month guarantee on electronics as opposed to the usual one year.
Daima Mkenya: Congested. Some goods have fair prices. No parking around the mall you have to park outside the gate. However it’s a nice place to try shopping.
Arna Saif: Heaven for shopoholic. cheapest place in Nairobi for shopping. Product quality is also good. great variety of profucts.
Edward Macharia: Has an extremely wide variety of goods and options to choose from at an unbeatable price. Quite huge and friendly staff. It is however very congested from midday would advice visiting it during the earlier hours of the day.
Kerry Wachira: This place got free marketing, mainly from the government. Overall not much of a difference from other shopping mall. Advantage they have is everything under one roof.
Kinyanjui Njuguna: Very congested and ventilation is a big problem as it felt very stuffy. It is the main attraction in the mall and stocks various goods. It’s hard to miss whatever it is that you are looking for.
Rizwana: It’s a one stop shopping for all kinds of stuff (love that) but the place is really crowded and so hot inside. Management should do something truly.
Masi Fred: Prices friendly shopping centre where by you get alk you need. Cool and welcoming staff. Quality stuff and snappy shelf arrangement with enough walking part.
Audrey Yvonne: I went with high expectations after all the hype on social media. However, there is very little to impress and really nothing out of the ordinary. The prices of most of the stuff are higher than other stores/supermarkets. Kamukunji still beats this place on deals.
John Tieng: Has a very expansive supermarket floor. Stocking mainly household goods, decor and tools under one roof at affordable prices. Although parking was provided when the mall was planned, at times shoppers park outside because it has become popular.
Magnificent (Anto): China square is a good mall with a lot to improve on especially when it comes to product arrangements, here is where they really get it wrong. You can spend hours looking for something, also they should add more products eg. Foodstuff and not solely focus on machinery stuff as this is what you’re immediately slapped with when you enter the premises. other than that it’s a good place to visit, take pictures while you are at it.
