Alexander Lukashenko is a politician who has been the President of Belarus since 1994.

He is known for his authoritarian style of governance, which has been criticized by many human rights organizations and democratic governments around the world.

Lukashenko was born in 1954 in the village of Kopys, in what was then the Soviet Union.

He served in the Soviet Army and later worked as a director of a state farm before entering politics.

He was elected to the Belarusian parliament in 1990 and became the chairman of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus in 1991.

In 1994, Lukashenko was elected as the President of Belarus in the country’s first presidential election.

He has since been re-elected in every subsequent election, with the most recent one being in 2020.

However, his re-election in 2020 was widely disputed, with many alleging that the election was rigged in his favor.

Under Lukashenko’s leadership, Belarus has been criticized for its lack of political freedoms, human rights abuses, and suppression of opposition voices.

The country has been called “Europe’s last dictatorship” by some, and Lukashenko has been subject to international sanctions and condemnation for his actions.

Despite this, Lukashenko has maintained a strong grip on power in Belarus, with the support of the country’s security forces and a loyal base of supporters.

Belarus GDP

Belarus is a landlocked country located in Eastern Europe, bordered by Russia to the east and northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest.

The country has a population of approximately 9.4 million people and a land area of 207,600 square kilometers.

Belarus has a mixed economy with a combination of state-owned enterprises and private businesses.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Belarus is the total value of all goods and services produced within the country’s borders in a given period, usually a year.

According to the World Bank, the GDP of Belarus was $63.5 billion in 2020, with a per capita GDP of $6,743.

Belarus has a relatively small economy compared to other European countries, but it has been growing steadily over the past few years.

The main sectors of the Belarusian economy are industry, agriculture and services.

Industry accounts for the largest share of the country’s GDP, with manufacturing being the most important sub-sector.

Belarus is known for its heavy machinery, particularly in the areas of tractors, trucks and agricultural equipment.

The country also has a significant chemical industry, producing fertilizers, synthetic fibers and plastics.

Agriculture is another important sector of the Belarusian economy, accounting for around 8% of the country’s GDP.

The country is known for its production of potatoes, flax, and dairy products.

Belarus has a well-developed food processing industry, which includes meat processing, dairy processing and canning.

The services sector is the smallest of the three sectors, accounting for around 60% of the country’s GDP.

The main sub-sectors of the services sector are wholesale and retail trade, transport and communications and financial services.
