Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has strongly condemned the heckling of leaders during former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s recent visit to Embu.
Speaking on Sunday at a church service in Kimumu, Mbeere North, Kindiki criticized Gachagua for allegedly inciting divisions during public events, particularly referencing a recent burial ceremony where a discontented crowd disrupted the President’s speech.
“If you have your own issues, don’t bring them here. I have given him all the respect, but he must also respect me,” said Kindiki.
The Deputy President accused Gachagua of fostering public frustration without providing tangible solutions.
“You can’t be a leader who listens to the people’s grievances, then cries and complains without offering solutions. All you do is fuel anger and frustration,” he remarked.
Kindiki urged leaders to avoid engaging in smear campaigns and political rivalry, which he described as poor leadership.
He emphasized the need for unity and a focus on addressing the pressing issues affecting Kenyans.
Amid speculation about his low public profile, Kindiki dismissed critics questioning his silence, calling such claims distractions.
“Watch this space. We know what Kenyans expect, and we’re focused on solving the real issues,” he asserted.
