The body of a 28-year-old woman was discovered on Saturday in the Kamutaro area of Kiambaa under suspicious circumstances.
Police identified the deceased as Jackline Nyambura Mungai.
Her body, found partially dressed, had a blue T-shirt tightly tied around her head, blocking her mouth, though no visible injuries were observed.
According to a police report filed at the Karuri station, preliminary investigations revealed that Mungai had been living with a man identified as 44-year-old Nahashon Kuria Wanjiru for the past four years in a rented apartment, located about 200 meters from where her body was found.
This marks the second body recovered in Kiambu County on the same day, raising concerns over a troubling pattern of unexplained deaths.
Earlier, the body of 27-year-old John Muchiri was found along the Banana-Kiambu road in the Kawaida area.
Reports indicate that Muchiri was last seen on Friday before his girlfriend received a mysterious call instructing her where to retrieve his body.
Both bodies were transported to the Kihara Level Four Hospital morgue for autopsies as investigations continue.
In a related incident, the body of Ian Singoe, 27, was discovered in the Mwiki area of Kasarani.
Singoe had been reported missing since December 31, 2024, after leaving Bomet.
The cause of his death remains unclear, and police are pursuing leads in the case.
These incidents follow the burial of Ibrahim Mwiti, who had gone missing in November 2024.
Mwiti’s body was found at Thika Level Four mortuary on January 2, 2025, and laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery.
Activists and community leaders are calling for swift investigations and stronger measures to address the alarming rise in unexplained deaths in the region.
