Paul William Walker IV was an American actor born on September 12, 1973, in Glendale, California.
He began his career as a child actor in the 1980s and gained recognition in the 1990s after appearing in the television soap opera The Young and the Restless.
Walker received praise for his performances in the teen comedy She’s All That and the comedy-drama Varsity Blues (both 1999).
However, he became best known for his role as Brian O’Conner in the Fast & Furious franchise.
Walker starred in several other movies, including Joy Ride (2001), Timeline (2003), Into the Blue (2005), and Eight Below (2006).
He also appeared in the critically successful thriller Joy Ride (2001).
Despite initial reluctance, Walker reprised his role as Brian O’Conner after seven years, in Fast & Furious (2009).
Walker died on November 30, 2013, in a car accident in Valencia, California, at the age of 40.
The car crashed into a concrete lamppost and two trees, bursting into flames and killing both men instantly.
Paul Walker cause of death
Walker was an American actor best known for his role as Brian O’Conner in the Fast & Furious franchise.
The accident occurred in Santa Clarita, California, where he was a passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend and racing team partner, Roger Rodas.
The car crashed into a light pole and burst into flames, killing both men.
The cause of Walker’s death was traumatic and thermal injuries sustained in the car accident.
The autopsy report revealed that there were no signs of drugs or alcohol detected in either man.
However, in 2015, Walker’s daughter Meadow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche, alleging negligence, wrongful death and other claims following her father’s death.
The lawsuit claimed that the car had design flaws that contributed to the accident.
Porsche responded by saying that it was “reckless driving” and not negligence that caused the accident.
Paul Walker’s daughter lawsuit
Following Walker’s death in 2013, his daughter, Meadow Walker, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche in 2015, claiming that the car company was responsible for her father’s death.
Meadow alleged that the Porsche Carrera GT in which her father was riding lacked safety features that could have prevented his death.
She also claimed that the car’s 605-horsepower engine was defective and that Porsche knew about the defects but failed to warn consumers.
In 2017, Meadow settled her wrongful death lawsuit with Porsche for an undisclosed amount.
The terms of the settlement were confidential, and both parties requested that the wrongful death case be dismissed.
Meadow was previously awarded $10.1 million in a settlement from the estate of Roger Rodas, Paul’s friend who was driving the car that killed them both.
Walker left his entire estate, worth $25 million, in the hands of his daughter according to his will.
