Moringa School is a multi-disciplinary coding institution with intensive tech education programs.

Moringa School’s aim is to empower a generation of students who are passionate about technology as the knowledge gained prepares the students to become distinguished mobile and web developers.
The school was started in 2014 by Audrey Cheng, a Taiwanese-American entrepreneur, who before establishing Moringa School was an investor in technology companies across Africa.
Partial scholarships
The aim of Moringa School Financial Aid Program is to make the courses and skills accessible to people who would otherwise be excluded from the digital revolution due to current financial constraints.
The Student Financing options help learners navigate around their fees so that they can concentrate on their studies.
Moringa School partial scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of demonstrated financial need.
To apply:
Step 1 – Applicants express interest by Filling out the Expression of interest FormÂ
Step 2 – Financial Aid application is sent to the student within 5 working days.
Step 3 – Applicants fill out the Financial aid application form and attaches supplemental documentation. (Expected to be filled out within 5 days after receiving the application)
Step 4 – Upon submission our student financing team will review your application and Supplemental documents (This takes 2 weeks to review upon the team receiving the application)
Kindly note that at this point, an applicant student can be denied aid.
Below are some of the reasons an application can be denied aid:
- Provides false information in their application.
- Has no interest in completing the course.
- Applies for aid when aid is no longer being offered.
- Has access to a Fee Discount for the class they are applying to joinÂ
- Fails to provide required Financial Aid documents/information e.g National Identification card, bank or m-pesa statement, and payslip/contract in case they are employed.( please note that Moringa School is committed to protecting your privacy. All information provided will be kept strictly confidential. We will not disclose your personal information to a third party outside Moringa without your consent
- If Applicant is working or enrolled in a different institution
- If an applicant meets all of the above prequalifications, proceed to step 5
Step 5  – You will receive an online Assessment that should be completed within 5 days of receiving it
Step 6– Financial aid Admissions team reviews the online assessment (Which takes 2 weeks to review upon the team receiving it)
Step 7 – You will receive an update on your award status (Note: You are encouraged to apply way in advance due to the large volume of applications we receive for processing)
Step 8 – If aid is awarded, you will receive an acceptance letter and a scholarship award contract that you must sign and share with Moringa for approval of funds disbursement (Expected to be filled out within 5 days after receiving the acceptance response and Contract form
Step 9 – Partial scholarship Awardees are expected to pay half of the remaining fee balance to book their slot and clear the balance before class starts(the Class slot is not booked until payments are made in addition to this,It is important to note that the class slots are limited and available on a first come first serve basis. We encourage you to make your payment to book your slot in class at your earliest convenience.
Eligibility
To be eligible to receive Financial aid, you must:
- Be a youth, Aged 18-35.
- Be a citizen or legal resident of Kenya.
- Be a high school graduate with proof of KCSE certification/result slip.
- One should have a passion for programming /coding for example if they have tried to study programming on their own or have some GitHub projects.
- Demonstrate Financial Need: In general, there must be documented proof of financial need in the form of bank statements for a specified period and tax returns to qualify for financial aid.
- Able to commit to the program full-time for 6 months. Students will have to attend class from Monday to Friday 8:30 am-6:00 pm. It should be noted that Moringa school has a very important and strict attendance policy. Students are expected to have no less than a 95% attendance rate. Failure to comply with this policy can result in expulsion.
Staying Eligible
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
- Study for the entire duration of the Moringa Courses without deferring.
- Abide by the policies outlined in the student handbook and have no disciplinary issues
Required Documents
- A copy of you and your parents’/guardians’ identification document (such as ID card, passport, or driver’s licence). If you are being supported by your parents/guardians, you must submit both.
- A copy of you or/and your parents’/guardians’ employment contracts including wage/salary details OR three latest pay slips (where applicable)
- A copy of you or/and your parents’/guardians’ bank statement/ Mpesa statement. (This should be the 3 most recent months)
- A copy of you or/and your parents’/guardians’ most recent tax certificate/return(Please note that this is not the Tax compliance certificate)
The form will require the students’ and parents’ income information for at least 3 months.
Asset information requested on the forms should be reported as of the date the applications are completed and signed.Â
