David Castor was the second husband of Stacey Castor. He was found dead in his home in 2005 after ingesting lethal doses of antifreeze.
Stacey was convicted in 2009 of intentionally poisoning David and attempting to murder her daughter, Ashley Wallace, as part of a plot to pin the murder on her.
Stacey was also found guilty of the attempted murder of Ashley who nearly died from an overdose of vodka and prescription drugs in September 2007.
The suspect gave an eight-page, 4,000-word statement to investigators the day after David was found dead.
However, it did not mention Ashley being home alone with her father during the window of time that medical experts say he ingested the lethal doses of antifreeze.
Stacey was sentenced to 51 years to life in prison. She died in prison in 2016 at the age of 48. Her story has been the subject of several TV shows and movies.
