Some time in July 2012, Brown was reportedly trying to re-alive his friendship with Port. She admitted going to a Scotland-Norway match with Brown and spent the night in the same hotel.
At the time, Brown was 69 while Port was 33.

- France 1998 World Cup
Brown’s most successful campaign as Scotland manager came during the qualification phase for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.
