Lil Baby is an American rapper, singer and songwriter.
He grew up in the Oakland City neighborhood in southwestern Atlanta with his mother and two sisters after his father left the family when he was two years old.
Lil Baby dropped out of Booker T. Washington High School in ninth grade and committed to drug dealing.
He was a regular presence in the studio of Atlanta-based Quality Control Records as a drug dealer, and label founder Kevin Lee encouraged him to become a rapper.
Lil Baby rose to mainstream fame in 2017 following the release of his mixtape Perfect Timing.
His debut studio album, Harder Than Ever, was released in 2018 and spawned the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single Yes Indeed” (with Drake).
He has since released several more albums and mixtapes, including My Turn, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart in 2020.
