Emma Slater is an English-American professional dancer and choreographer.
At the age of 10, she started her training in ballroom and Latin American dance, and in the early years of competing, she won a number of competitions in England.
Slater is best known for her appearances on Dancing with the Stars, where she has been a professional dancer since 2012.
She has also appeared in the movie Mamma Mia!

Slater was born on December 25, 1988, in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, England, and was raised in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England.
She has a twin sister named Kelly, who is a costume designer and stylist on Dancing with the Stars.
At the age of four, Slater started studying ballet at Novelli Stage School, and at the age of ten, she began training in ballroom and Latin American dance.
In her early years of competing, she won several competitions in England and went on to win the British Under 21 Latin American Championships at the Blackpool Closed 2005 when she was 16 years old.
Slater also won the 2006 United Kingdom Under 21 Latin American Championships at the Bournemouth Pavilions, England.
Ranked in the world’s top 10, she represented the UK in competitions around the world.

Slater was married to fellow “DWTS” pro Sasha Farber, but they filed for divorce in February 2023, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The couple had separated back in April 2022.
In a recent episode of The Viall Files podcast with Nick Viall, Slater said that the divorce was ‘really the kid thing’ and that she didn’t want to delay Sasha’s path in having kids because she knows that he is ready for that.
Slater and Sasha tied the knot in March 2018, nearly two years after getting engaged during a live broadcast of their ABC dance competition.
Despite their divorce, Slater and Sasha remain on friendly terms and still support each other.
They even help each other out with their weekly routines on ‘Dancing with the Stars’, and has said that Sasha is ‘still like family’ to her and that the love between them didn’t go away.

She joined season fourteen of Dancing with the Stars in Hollywood in 2012 and progressed to Pro for season seventeen with comedian Bill Engvall, with whom she reached the final.
