Ronald Acuña Jr. is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder who currently plays for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He was born on December 18, 1997, in La Guaira, Venezuela, and made his MLB debut in 2018 and won the National League Rookie of the Year Award.

Acuña Jr. has won several awards and recognitions throughout his career, including the Silver Slugger Award, the National League Player of the Month, and the National League stolen base leader.

As of June 2023, he has a batting average of .285, 140 home runs, 349 runs batted in and 143 stolen bases.

On September 2023, he became the first player ever with at least 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases in a single season.

According to ESPN, Acuña Jr. lives in a two-story, craftsman-style home in Marietta, Georgia with his wife and two sons.

His living room is filled with sports memorabilia, including All-MLB plaques, commemorative baseballs, and a signed lineup card from last year’s All-Star Game in Los Angeles.

Acuña Jr. grew up in La Guaira, a port city in northern Venezuela, and has been playing baseball since he was a child.

He comes from a family of baseball players, including his father and four cousins, who have all played professionally.

On August 31, 2023, Acuña Jr. hit a grand slam home run at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, just hours after getting married in a secret ceremony.

The following day, he made history by becoming the first player ever with at least 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases in a single season.

Ronald Acuña Jr. career

Acuña Jr. signed with the Braves as an international free agent in 2014 and made his MLB debut in 2018, winning the National League Rookie of the Year Award.

The next season, he was named an MLB All-Star, was the NL stolen base leader, and won a Silver Slugger Award.

Acuña Jr. hit 21 homers and stole 44 bases as a 19-year-old across three levels of the minors, vaulting himself to the top of prospect lists and squarely into Atlanta’s long-term outfield plans.

By the following April, he had forced himself into the big-league picture and ignited the next era of Braves baseball.

In 2023, Acuña Jr. became the first player ever with at least 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases in a season, hitting his 30th home run on September 1, 2023.

He has a batting average of .285, 140 home runs, 349 runs batted in, and 143 stolen bases through June 30, 2023.

Ronald Acuña Jr. grand slam

Acuña Jr. hit a grand slam on September 1, 2023, in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This grand slam was significant because it made him the first player in Major League Baseball history to have a 30-home run, 60-stolen base season.

Acuña Jr. grand slam was his 30th home run of the season, which helped him achieve this historic feat.

His journey to this point has been impressive. He hit 21 home runs and stole 44 bases as a 19-year-old across three levels of the minors, which helped him become a top prospect and earn a spot in the Atlanta Braves’ outfield.

By the following April, Acuña Jr. had forced himself into the big-league picture and ignited the next era of Braves baseball.

His grand slam on his wedding night was a fitting end to a remarkable day.

Acuña Jr. got married earlier in the day and then went on to create the 30-60 club with his grand slam.

His performance this season has been nothing short of MVP-worthy, and his teammates recognize his contributions to the team’s success.
