Lauren Boebert is a Republican politician, businesswoman and gun rights activist who is currently serving her second term as the Representative for Colorado’s Third Congressional District.
She was born on December 19, 1986, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and is married to Jayson Boebert, with whom she has four children.
Boebert is known for her conservative views and opposition to progressive policies such as transitioning to green energy, COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates, abortion, sex education, gender affirmation surgery for minors and same-sex marriage.
She advocates for an isolationist foreign policy but supports closer ties with Israel for religious reasons.
Boebert is a self-described born-again Christian who has argued for greater church power and influence in government decision-making, saying that she is “tired of this separation of church and state junk”.
She rose to national prominence in 2020 when she defeated incumbent Republican Scott Tipton in the primary election for Colorado’s Third Congressional District.

Boebert went on to win the general election and assumed office on January 3, 2021.
She has been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and has been associated with his orbit.
Boebert has also been a strong advocate for gun rights and has made headlines for openly carrying a firearm in the U.S. Capitol.
In the 2022 midterm elections, Boebert faced a tough challenge from Democrat Adam Frisch, who lost to her by only 546 votes.
Frisch has announced his intention to run against Boebert again in 2024, setting up what could be one of the most intense races of the year.
As of November 15, 2022, hundreds of voters in Colorado’s Third Congressional District have one more day to “cure” their ballots and ensure their votes are counted for either Boebert or Frisch.
How is Lauren Boebert a grandmother?
Boebert became a grandmother at the age of 36 when her 17-year-old son’s girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy in April 2023.
She announced the news during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Committee’s women’s breakfast in March 2023, where she expressed her excitement to welcome the new life into her family.
Boebert’s son Tyler and his girlfriend were expecting a child, and Boebert and her husband Jayson were thrilled to become grandparents.
The politician herself became a mother as a teenager, and she is known for her far-right views and stunts like putting out an advertisement explaining why she carries a gun in Congress.
Despite her controversial political views, Boebert and her family are entitled to a private life, and the news of her becoming a grandmother only became newsworthy because she decided to share it publicly.
