Jill Dando was a British journalist and television presenter who was well-known for her work on the BBC.

She was born on November 9, 1961, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England, and grew up in the nearby town of Worle.

Dando began her career in journalism as a newsreader for BBC Radio Devon in 1985, before moving on to work for BBC South West in Plymouth.

In 1988, Dando joined the BBC’s flagship news program, the Six O’Clock News, as a presenter.

She quickly became a popular figure on British television, known for her warm and engaging personality, as well as her professionalism and journalistic integrity.

Dando went on to present a number of other programs for the BBC, including the travel show Holiday and the crime documentary series Crimewatch.

Tragically, Dando’s life was cut short when she was murdered outside her home in Fulham, London, on April 26, 1999.

Her death shocked the nation and led to a high-profile investigation, which ultimately resulted in the arrest of a man named Barry George in 2001.

Despite this, the circumstances surrounding Dando’s murder remain the subject of much speculation and debate to this day.

Dando’s husband at the time of her death was Alan Farthing.

Farthing is a British gynecologist and obstetrician who has worked for the National Health Service (NHS) and in private practice.

He is also known for his work as a consultant gynecologist to the Royal Household, having been appointed to the role in 2008.

Farthing and Dando were married in September 1999, just a few months before her death.

Following her murder, Farthing became a key witness in the investigation and gave evidence at the trial of the man who was eventually convicted of her murder.

Since Dando’s death, he has continued to work as a gynecologist and obstetrician, and has also been involved in various charitable and philanthropic endeavors.
