Eric Maigo is a finance professional who worked as the Finance Director at Nairobi Hospital.
He was murdered and laid to rest in a low-key ceremony at his Keboba home in Kisii County, according to multiple sources including Citizen Digital.
The main suspect in his murder is a teenage girl who had an altercation with her mother before fleeing home.
Recently, the suspect who is already under police custody claimed that she met Maigo before his murder and that he raped her.
Teen in Eric Maigo’s murder
The teen reportedly had an altercation with her mother on the night of September 14, 2023 when Maigo was sadly stabbed to death.
According to the mother, who said they had a misunderstanding over food, she sent her daughter to wait outside as she prepared dinner for the family.
“I told her if you were someone to be beaten, I would beat you, because when I ask you something, you don’t respond. Yet, you’re the one who was at home,” the mother said.
Speaking to NTV, the teen’s mother recounts that she started cooking, and when it was ready, the suspect was still outside.
When the teenager got back to the house, she picked up her mattress and laid it on the floor, getting ready for bed.
At around 6.00 AM on September 15, the other children were the first to notice the suspect’s absence from the house, and immediately alerted their mother.
The mother was only left wondering where her daughter could have gone at such wee morning hours.
She would be captured on CCTV cameras five blocks away from the house where the murder of Maigo is said to have occurred.
The police launched a nationwide manhunt for her as she was declared the prime suspect.
Did Eric Maigo have a wife?
According to a report published on Nairobi News, Maigo had neither a wife or any known children at the time of his death.
