Annabel Croft is a British former professional tennis player and current radio and television presenter.
She was born on July 12, 1966, in Farnborough, Kent, England.
Croft achieved success as a tennis player, winning the WTA Tour event Virginia Slims of San Diego and representing Great Britain in the Fed Cup and the Wightman Cup.
At the age of 15, she became the youngest British player to compete at Wimbledon in 95 years.
Despite her potential and being among the world’s top 25 players, Croft retired from professional tennis at the age of 21, citing fatigue from the relentless travel and a lack of enjoyment in playing.
After her retirement, she transitioned to a career in broadcasting, becoming the new face of Channel 4’s prime-time show Treasure Hunt, following Anneka Rice’s successful run.
This was followed by her own show on ITV, Interceptor.
In 1990, Croft released her own fitness video entitled Annabel Croft’s Shape Tape.
Croft has also been involved in various other television and radio projects throughout her career.
She is currently a contestant on the 2023 season of Strictly Come Dancing, where she hopes to find joy after the death of her husband, Mel Coleman.
