Simone Biles is an American gymnast who is widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in the sport.
She was born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio.
Biles grew up in Spring, Texas, in the Houston metropolitan area, after being adopted by her grandparents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, along with her sister Adria.
He developed an interest in gymnastics at the age of six when she went on a day-care field trip to Bannon’s Gymnastix.
She trained there for 11 years under the guidance of her coach, Aimee Boorman.
Biles quickly rose through the ranks and broke into the elite level of competition in 2011.
In less than two years, she became a dominant force in the sport, known for her consistency, exuberant personality, and high degree of difficulty in her routines.
Throughout her career, Biles has achieved numerous accolades and made history in the world of gymnastics.
She has won multiple gold medals at the World Championships and the Olympics.
In fact, Biles became the most-decorated female gymnast in world championships history when she won four golds, one silver, and one bronze at the 2018 championships.
She is known for her incredible athleticism and groundbreaking skills, and has pushed the boundaries of the sport with her innovative and difficult routines.
One of her signature events is the floor routine, where her tumbling passes are so challenging that her third pass is at the difficulty level of most gymnasts’ first pass.
Biles has the ability to perform moves that others find extremely difficult, showcasing her exceptional talent and skill.

Simone Biles career achievements
Biles has won seven Olympic medals, tying with Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals won by an American gymnast and is the equal ninth-most overall.
Additionally, she has won 25 World Championship medals, the most decorated gymnast in the history of the Gymnastics World Championships.
What sets Biles apart is her consistency, her exuberant personality, and the high degree of difficulty she incorporates into her routines in all four events—vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.
She debuted two new eponymous skills at the World Championships in 2019, the double-double dismount on the balance beam and the triple-double on the floor exercise.
In July 2017, Biles won the ESPY Award for Best Female Athlete, becoming the second gymnast to win the award.
She is the first American to win a medal in every event at the World Championships.
Biles began 2015 with victories in the AT&T American Cup in Arlington, Texas and the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy.
At that year’s U.S. Classic, she finished first in the all-around competition, with first place finishes in balance beam, vault and floor exercise.
Although Biles had won early acceptance to UCLA, she made the decision to become a professional, thereby forfeiting the opportunity to compete for UCLA.
After a 711-day layoff, Simone Biles made a triumphant return to public competition at the U.S. Classic in July 2018.
She posted the highest scores on vault, floor exercise, balance beam, and all-around performance.
At the USA Gymnastics National Championships the following month, Biles won gold medals in all four events — her first medal for the uneven bars.
Biles’ career achievements are a testament to her incredible talent, dedication and hard work in the sport of gymnastics.
