Ron Cephas Jones was an American actor who was born on January 8, 1957, in Paterson, New Jersey.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School and graduated from Ramapo College, where he changed his major to theater after getting the lead in a production of Cinderella Ever After his sophomore year.

Jones was best known for his role as William Hill in the drama series This Is Us, which earned him four consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning twice for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2018 and 2020.

He played William Shakespeare Hill, a biological father whose life is renewed through his relationship with the family of his biological son.

Jones also appeared in other TV series such as the Hulu teen drama series Looking for Alaska and the Apple TV+ crime drama series Truth Be Told, opposite Octavia Spencer, Lizzy Caplan and Aaron Paul.

He was a veteran stage actor and received a Tony nomination for his role in the Broadway production of The Motherfucker with the Hat.

Jones died on August 19, 2023, at the age of 66.

Ron Cephas Jones cause of death

Jones’ cause of his death was a long-standing pulmonary issue.

Pulmonary issues are related to the lungs and can include conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and pulmonary fibrosis.

Jones’ manager, Dan Spilo, confirmed the news of his death and stated that the actor had been dealing with the pulmonary issue for some time.

Jones had previously spoken about his health issues, including a lung transplant he underwent in 2011.

Despite his health struggles, he continued to act and received critical acclaim for his performances, including two Emmy awards for his role in This Is Us.

Pulmonary issues

A pulmonary issue is a medical condition that affects the lungs and can lead to breathing difficulties and other complications.

Pulmonary issues can include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, lung cancer, emphysema and bronchitis.

Pulmonary issues can lead to death due to respiratory failure, heart failure, or other complications.

For example, COPD is the third leading cause of death worldwide, causing 3.23 million deaths in 2019.

Pulmonary fibrosis, a condition that causes scarring of the lungs, can lead to respiratory failure and death.

Lung cancer, which is often caused by smoking, can spread to other parts of the body and cause death.

Pulmonary edema, a condition in which fluid accumulates in the lungs, can cause respiratory failure and death.

Pulmonary issues can also lead to sudden and unexpected death, such as acute, occlusive pulmonary arterial thromboembolism.

In summary, pulmonary issues can lead to death due to respiratory failure, heart failure or other complications.
