Naomi Osaka is a Japanese professional tennis player who has been ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and is the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles.
She was born on October 16, 1997, in Chūō-ku, Osaka, Japan, to Tamaki Osaka and Leonard François.
Osaka moved to the United States with her family when she was three years old and grew up in Long Island, New York and later Florida.
She began playing tennis at a young age and turned professional in 2013 at the age of 16.
Osaka has won four Grand Slam titles, including the US Open in 2018 and 2020, the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021.
