Jackson Mandago is a Kenyan politician who has held several positions in government.
He was the first Governor of Uasin Gishu County, serving from 2013 to 2022.
Mandago was re-elected in 2017 for his second and final term.
He is currently serving as the senator of Uasin Gishu County, having assumed office on September 8, 2022.
Mandago pursued a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Kenyatta University and later studied procurement and strategic planning at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).
However, he has recently been in the news for his arrest over the Uasin Gishu scholarship scam, and he was transferred from Nakuru DCI offices to Central Police Station after grilling.
Mandago was later arraigned in court and released on a Ksh 2 million bond.
He was released alongside two other co-accused Joshua Lelei and Meshack Rono.
The court also ordered that they pay a surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of Ksh 500,000.

Jackson Mandago wife
Mandago’s wife is Lucy Jerono Mandago.
She is an alumnus of the Catholic University of East Africa. She holds a bachelor of arts and social sciences.
Lucy has reportedly served in various corporations, including the Coffee Board of Kenya.
In the past, she has made statements warning women who have been eyeing her husband that their time is up.
For instance, in August 2022, Lucy warned women eyeing Mandago to keep off, although, she made the remarks in jest.
“If you were drooling over my husband during his tenure as governor, I wish to tell you that your time is up. He is now fully mine [without any pressing gubernatorial duties]
“It hasn’t been easy to manage the county. I now thank you, the people of Uasin Gishu County, for returning him back to me,” said Lucy.
Mandago, in his speech, thanked Lucy for the support she gave him during his tenure as governor.
“I want to thank my wife Lucy for her support over the last ten years, it has not been easy
“When you’re a young leader with a young family, you need a strong wife to run the family while you’re busy with public life,” he said.
The couple have two children together.
