Alex Collins is a former American football running back who played in the NFL for five seasons.
He was born on August 26, 1994.
Collins was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round, 171st overall, of the 2016 NFL Draft.
He spent two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens in 2017 and 2018 before being re-signed by Seattle in 2020.
Collins played college football at the University of Arkansas, where he was named second-team all-SEC.
He led Arkansas to a Liberty Bowl victory over Kansas.
Sadly, Collins died on August 16, 2021, at the age of 28.
Career-wise, Collins played college football at the University of Arkansas from 2013 to 2015.
He started his career as the first true freshman in SEC history to rush for 300 yards in his first three games.
Despite being the backup to sophomore Jonathan Williams, Collins rushed for 100 yards in each of the first three weeks, becoming the first-ever SEC freshman to accomplish that feat.
For his play, he was named the 2013 SEC Freshman of the Year.
Collins led Arkansas to a Liberty Bowl victory over Kansas State on January 2, 2016.
Hewas named second-team all-SEC, mostly because Alabama’s Derrick Henry and LSU’s Leonard Fournette outrushed him and were All-Americans.
Collins played for three teams during his NFL career.
