In 2014, she moved to Media Max, where she worked as a political reporter at K24 TV. In 2016, she joined Citizen TV as a reporter.

She has covered a wide range of stories during her career, including the 2013 general election, the 2017 general election, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chemutai has also interviewed a number of high-profile figures, including President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
