In March 2033, Multichoice Kenya announced plans to increase its pay TV charges by up to 10 percent starting April 1.
The rise was in response to rising operational costs.
The higher charges for its various bouquets will see adjustments of between six percent and 10 percent for both DStv and GOtv customers.
“MultiChoice acknowledges the difficult economic climate in Kenya and thus has kept the increase at the lowest possible point while ensuring sustainability and provision of quality services,” said Multichoice Kenya in a statement.

GOtv is a digital terrestrial television platform that provides affordable and accessible digital TV services to viewers in Africa.
It is owned by Multichoice Africa, a subsidiary of the South African based Multichoice Group.
GOtv operates on the Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial (DVB-T) platform, which enables the transmission of high-quality digital signals over the airwaves.
This means that viewers can access a variety of local and international TV channels without the need for a satellite dish or internet connection.
To receive GOtv signals, viewers need a GOtv decoder, which is a set-top box that is connected to a TV and an antenna.
The decoder receives the digital signal transmitted over the airwaves and converts it into a format that can be displayed on the TV.
GOtv offers different packages to suit different viewing preferences and budgets. The packages vary in the number of channels and the subscription fees.
Viewers can subscribe to a package of their choice by purchasing a GOtv decoder and a monthly subscription.
GOtv also offers value-added services such as program guides, parental control, and interactive services like voting, games, and messaging.
