Google Trains over 100,000 Devs in Africa

Nairobi, Kenya – Recently Google celebrated it’s 15th anniversary since opening the first office in Africa at Nairobi.

The event presided H. E President William Ruto saw many attendees from the local and international tech communitiy.

The most recent major event by Google in Kenya is the Sandbox program that was held on November 17th 2022.

The event hosted software developers and tech industry professionals to a full-day event of workshops and talks in Nairobi.

Google opened it’s office in Nairobi at 2007 and in 2017, a commitment was formed to train 100,000 developers across Africa.

Google Sand box program aims to activate partnerships that will deepen relationships within the local tech communitiy and additionally, allow Google engage with local talent.

“Since we opened our first office in Africa here in Nairobi in 2007, we have helped to strengthen an Internet ecosystem in Africa that is vibrant and self-sufficient in the long term.”
